Being in the Fish Guts

Jonah, hearing God is not transformed by that listening. And Jonah is like you and me. We hear God and we keep fighting God. And we have to learn to listen to God. And if you take the book of Jonah and you make it all something about your inward journey, let alone worrying about other people, if you make it about your inward journey, what you realise is that the story is about the way you and I will keep resisting the God who is calling us to life. We will do anything rather than listen to God.
